The Independent Film and Television Alliance has reupped through 2015 its employment contracts with CEO-president Jean Prewitt and exec VP and American Film Market managing director Jonathan Wolf.
IFTA, which reps 150 member companies in 23 countries, made the announcement Wednesday.
Chairman Paul Hertzberg said in a statement, “We are thrilled to have Jean and Jonathan on board through 2015. Their leadership and insight have put IFTA and independents at the forefront of conversations affecting the industry.”
IFTA is best known for running AFM and opted late last year for a multiyear pact to remain at its beachside location in Santa Monica through 2017 rather than move to downtown Los Angeles. It also launched a five-day conference series last year.
IFTA also noted that, under an agreement Prewitt struck with Comcast/NBCUniversal to promote independent programming on U.S. broadcast and cable networks, qualified independent producers were able to pitch projects directly to NBCU executives, resulting in several new development deals.
Prewitt has been at IFTA since 2000. Wolf joined the IFTA staff in 1993 and has been in charge of the AFM since 1998.
