Hugh Grant stays with ‘Bridget Jones’

Working Title: 'Film going ahead as planned'

LONDON — Working Title Films has dismissed any industry speculation that the production of the latest “Bridget Jones” pic is in trouble.

In response to rumors that Hugh Grant had ankled the project, Tim Bevan, co-chairman of Working Title Films issued the following statement: “Reports that Hugh Grant has exited ‘Bridget Jones’s Baby’ are untrue. We are still working on the script, hence the delay to the start of production, but the film is going ahead as planned.”

The third instalment of the franchise is set to topline original cast members Grant, Renee Zellweger and Colin Firth.

Peter Cattaneo (“The Full Monty”) directs, while the tome’s scribe Helen Fielding joins David Nicholls to pen the script.
