With “American Horror Story” behind her, Taissa Farmiga is going bigscreen, grabbing leading roles in Sofia Coppola’s “Bling Ring” and the indie “Jamesy Boy.”
In “Bling Ring,” Farmiga joins Emma Watson — whose casting Variety first reported Wednesday — as a teen involved in the true celebrity burglary ring story that Coppola is helming and writing.
Coppola and her brother Roman will produce with Youree Henley.
“Jamesy Boy” also stars Spencer Lofranco and will be written and helmed by Trevor White.
Story involves a young man who goes from suburban street gang to a maximum-security prison, where he’s mentored by a convicted murderer. Farmiga plays the main character’s love interest.
Tim White, Maria Norman, Steve Saeta, Galen Walker, Scott Mednick are producing. Wayne Rogers and Bonnie Timmermann are exec produing.
Plan is for Farmiga to shoot “James Boy” first and follow it up with “Bling Ring.”
She played the daughter on “American Horror Story,” which is recasting most main players for its soph season. Farmiga, the younger sister of Vera Farmiga, is repped by ICM and Authentic Literary and Talent Management.
