Holland pic set for Polish fest

'In Darkness' in lineup at Gydnia film festival

Moscow– Agnieszka Holland’s Oscar-nommed wartime drama “In Darkness” is among 13 films that will be competing in the main competition at the 37th edition of Poland’s national movie showcase, the Gydnia Film Festival.

Lineup, which includes seven premieres, three debuts and one sophomore film, includes “80 Million,” a political thriller set in 1981, just before the declaration of martial law in Poland, directed by Waldemar Krzystek; “Man, Chicks Are Just Different,” directed by Marek Koterski, a politically incorrect comedy that plays with gender stereotypes; “Crulic — The Path to Beyond,” an unusual animated feature directed by Anca Damian; and “You Are God,” a Polish hip-hop pic, directed by Leszek Dawid, centered on musician Magician.

Fest runs May 7-12.
