Former ICM agent Herb Cheyette, who long represented the estate of Theodor Geisel (Dr. Seuss), negotiating numerous film and television deals, including for the successful adaptations of “Horton Hears a Who!” and “The Lorax,” died of cancer in La Jolla, Calif., on Oct. 2. He was 83.
Cheyette joined a predecessor agency of ICM after working at CBS and Capitol Records. He was a graduate of Yale Law School and alumnus of the Yale Drama School. Survivors include his wife, Marie-Louise; three sons; and six grandchildren.
