LONDON Alison Klayman’s Sundance award-winning documentary “Ai Weiwei: Never Sorry” has locked a slew of sales ahead of Cannes.Pic, which is being shopped by Independent, sold to Haut et Court in France, Madman Entertainment in Australia, NonStop Entertainment in Scandinavia and Avalon Distribution Audiovisual in Spain. Docu, about China’s famous international artist and domestic critic Ai Weiwei, is skedded to unspool this summer in the U.S. via Sundance Selects, in the U.K. via Artificial Eye and in Germany via DCM. Klayman helms and produces the pic, co-produced by Adam Schlesinger. Karl Katz, Julie Goldman and Andrew Cohen exec produce. Independent will screen the docu at the Cannes Film Market this month.
