Russian-lingo pic planned for summer

Hannover House has taken U.S. theatrical and DVD rights to Shoreline Intl.’s “The Weather Station.”

Russian-language thriller, directed by Moscow-based Irish director Johnny O’Reilly, is the first U.S. release for Russian producer Sergey Selyanov since his Ghengis Khan epic “Mongol” in 2007.

Vlar Ryashin of Star Media Group is a co-producer.

“Station” will bow in New York and Los Angeles July 20 before rolling out across Landmark Theatre and National Amusement cinemas in 19 other US cities.

O’Reilly is currently in pre-production on “Moscow Never Sleeps,” which weaves together five stories that show the Russian capital in a new light.

An Irish-Russian co-production with finance from the Irish Film Board, the film is being produced by O’Reilly, Andrey Zakharov and Anna Katchko through Snapshot Films in Russia and Katie Holly from Blinder Films in Ireland.
