Shooting set for New York in April

Hugh Grant will star in Marc Lawrence’s new untitled romantic comedy for Castle Rock.

Shooting set for New York in April.

Martin  Shafer will produce with Liz Glotzer for Castle Rock. No distribution deals have been set.

Lawrence will direct from his own script.

It’s the fourth collaboration between Grant, Lawrence and Castle Rock following “Two Weeks Notice,” “Music and Lyrics” and  “Did You Hear About the Morgans?”

Lawrence and Castle Rock also teamed on both “Miss Congeniality” pics.

Grant will play a witty Englishman in Hollywood who won an Academy Award for Best Screenplay in 1998. Fifteen years later, he’s creatively washed up, divorced and broke — so he takes a job teaching screenwriting at a small college on the East Coast.

Grant’s credits include “About a Boy,” “Bridget Jones’s Diary,” “Notting Hill,” “Sense and Sensibility” and “Four Weddings and a Funeral.”  He can currently be seen in “Cloud Atlas.”

Shafer, Glotzer and Castle Rock Entertainment recently produced Richard Linklater’s “Bernie,” released by Millennium Entertainment, “Friends with Benefits” released by Screen Gems, and Whit Stillman’s “Damsels in Distress,” released by Sony Pictures Classics.
