News Corp. exec replaces producer Nansun Shi
BEIJING — Private Chinese shingle Bona Film Group has appointed News Corp. senior veep and CEO of the conglom’s China investments, Jack Gao, to its board of directors, replacing producer Nansun Shi.
Shi, producer of Bona pics including “Flying Swords of Dragon Gate,” resigns from the board to pursue other interests, but will continue to serve in an advisory role and on the investment committee of Bona, the company said in a statement.
News Corp. took a 20% minority stake in Bona earlier this year when it bought shares from founder and topper Yu Dong.
“As head of News Corporation’s investments in China, Jack played an important role in their recent strategic investment in Bona, and we are pleased that he has agreed to take a more active role in the company by joining our board,” Yu said in a statement.
