Fishman nabs ‘Million’

Docu to be launched theatrically in the U.S. on Sept. 28

David Fisher’s documentary “Six Million and One” has been picked up for U.S. distribution by Nancy K. Fishman.

The documentary will be launched theatrically in the United States on Sept. 28 at Lincoln Plaza Cinema in New York.

“Six Million and One” won the best documentary at this year’s DocFest Munich.

Pic centers on Fisher and his siblings retracing the footsteps of their late father — a Holocaust survivor who was interned in Gusen and Gunskirchen, Austria — and covers meeting with American WWII veterans who participated in the liberation of their father and a journey to Austria by the Fisher siblings.

Fisher’s credits include “Love Inventory,” “Little Big Sister,” “A Shepherd’s Affair” and “Buried Alive.”

Fishman negotiated the acquisition with Philippa Kowarsky of Cinephil.
