FilmDistrict pegs ‘Dead Man’ for April 5

Thriller faces U cop comedy on same date

FilmDistrict has set an April 5 release date for thriller “Dead Man Down,” starring Colin Farrell and Noomi Rapace.

“Dead Man” is produced by Neal H. Moritz’s Original Film and screenwriter J.H. Wyman of Frequency Films with Niels Arden Oplev directing. IM Global and WWE Studios are financing. Farrell portays the righthand man to a New York City crime lord who is seduced and blackmailed by Rapace’s character, a crime victim seeking retribution.

Universal has already slotted its untitled police comedy, starring Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy with Paul Feig directing, for April 5.

FilmDistrict’s next release is “Red Dawn” on Nov. 21.
