She's expected to get an on-the-lot deal

Universal production exec VP Tracy Falco is leaving her studio post to go back into producing.

Insiders tell Variety that while nothing has yet closed, U is expected to offer her an on-the-lot deal, given her talent relationships and demonstrated ability to manage ambitious projects. Falco, who has been in the position since 2008, oversees the day-to-day development and production of U’s slate.

While at Universal, Falco has worked on films including “Tower Heist,” “Little Fockers” and “It’s Complicated.” She also oversaw production for the studio on Oliver Stone’s “Savages,” which bows July 6.

Falco also produced films at United Artists, including Robert Redford’s “Lions for Lambs.” Before that, Falco was an associate producer on Miramax’s “Rounders” and New Line’s “Blow.”

Universal has not yet chosen Falco’s replacement.
