Exchange nabs ‘Hellbenders’ sales rights

Horror-comedy preeming at TIFF

The Exchange has acquired international sales rights to horror-comedy “Hellbenders,” which will have its world premiere at the Toronto Intl. Film Festival on Sunday.

The Exchange’s Brian O’Shea and Nat McCormick are offering the film to international buyers while Preferred Content’s Kevin Iwashina and Christine D’Souza are handling US and Canada territories. Deal was announced Friday.

The film stars Clancy Brown, Clifton Collins Jr. and Dan Fogler. Pic was directed by JT Petty, produced by John Denny, Circle of Confusion’s partner Lawrence Mattis, David Moscow, Mark L. Pederson and Aldey Sanchez.

The script, also penned by Petty, is about a secret group of elite demonologists in a Brooklyn diocese who battle a terrifying supernatural force that threatens their lives and faith.
