Esperanza, Angel Bear team on ‘Devil’ thriller

Horror thriller is currently shooting in Los Angeles

Esperanza Films and Thai company Angel Bear Prods. are teaming to produce and finance a slate of films for 2013, starting with horror thriller “Devil May Call.”

“Devil,” currently shooting in Los Angeles, is directed by Jason Cuadrado from his own script with Corri English, Tyler Mane and Traci Lords starring. Movie centers around a young blind woman who works at a suicide hotline.

Angel Bear has produced two Thai-US features: Jeff Hare’s romantic comedy “Bitter/Sweet,” starring Kip Pardue and James Brolin, and John Penney’s supernatural thriller “Hellgate,” starring William Hurt and Cary Elwes.

Esperanza is developing “Celestina,” to be directed by Jose Rivera (“On the Road”) from his own script.
