First theatrical releases will be 'Dragon Age,' 'Mass Effect'
LONDON — eOne has signed a multi-year deal with South Korea’s United Entertainment Korea, marking the international entertainment company’s first distribution partnership in Asia.UEK will handle rights in all media for eOne’s international home entertainment titles in South Korea. eOne Television Intl. will continue to handle TV content in the territory, and eOne Films Intl. will still offer its slate of projects to all buyers and distributors. “As we continue to expand our global distribution network, it’s essential that we build strong partnerships with local industry leaders like UEK,” said Patrice Theroux, president of filmed entertainment for eOne. The first eOne titles to be released in theaters under the partnership will be “Dragon Age” and “Mass Effect.” UEK has exclusive distribution rights in South Korea to home entertainment product from Sony Pictures, NBCUniversal and 20th Century Fox, as well as handling theatrical releases for independent films from around the world.
