Entertainment One Films has scooped North America distribution rights in all media to Italian multihyphenate Sergio Castellitto’s “Twice Born” for release in 2013 it was announced Friday.
Pic stars Penelope Cruz as a woman whose memories of her 1984 love affair with a photographer (Emile Hirsch) surface during a visit to Sarajevo with her teenage son (Pietro Castellitto).
Sergio Castellitto penned the script with his wife Margaret Mazzantini, who wrote the bestseller on which the film is based.
“Twice” world-preemed as a Gala at the Toronto Film Festival in September and screened in competition at the San Sebastian Film Fest.
“We’re pleased to add another impressive title to our growing U.S. slate,” said eOne Films North American prexy David Reckziegel in a statement.
Wild Bunch is selling the film internationally, CAA is its U.S. rep.
