'Villegas,' 'Touch Me Not' to screen in Cannes

Tracy O’Riordan of London-based Moonspun Films, Liisa Penttila of Finland’s Edith Film and Morgan Bushe of Dublin’s Fastnet Films are among 25 producers picked to take part in European Film Promotion’s Producers on the Move program at the Cannes Film Festival.

The networking event, which takes place May 19-22, includes Constanze Schumann of Vienna’s Allegro Film (“Inside America”) Signe Leick Jensen of Copenhagen’s Toolbox Film (“Superclasico”), and Brede Hovland of Oslo’s Motlys (“Turn Me on, Goddammit”).

Some participants will present films at the fest. “Villegas” from Dutch producer Trent of NFI Prods. will unspool in a Special Screening; Romanian Monica Lazurean-Gorgan from 4 Proof Film will present “Touch Me Not” in Cinefondation Atelier.

The event also gives the producers networking opportunities plus the chance to pitch projects and brainstorm on future Euro co-productions at roundtable and one-on-one meets.
