CANNES — Disney is to bow a movies-on-demand service across Europe.
In what is believed to be the first deal of its kind, Disney Media Distribution Spain and Portugal, and Portuguese paybox ZON will launch Disney Movies on Demand next month. New service will offer a selection of Disney and Pixar movies. A launch in Spain is imminent, with other countries to follow. Service will include such features as “Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl,” “Enchanted” and “Cinderella.” The Mouse House will close its Cinemagic subscription web in Portugal, also carried by ZON.Disney rolls out European VOD service
