DGA Awards also bump up nominations

Move follows Oscar nom announcement

Reacting to the change in the Oscar nomination announcement, the Directors Guild of America has moved up its nominations announcements by two days to Jan. 8 for feature nods and Jan. 9 for TV and commercial noms.

The DGA had originally planned to make its film nominations on Jan. 10, followed by the TV nods the next day. But the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has moved up the announcement of nominations to Jan. 10 — five days earlier than previously scheduled — in order to give members more time to see nominated pics before turning in their final ballots.

The DGA Awards will be presented Feb. 2 at the Hollywood & Highland Center.
