Exec has worked on campaigns for '300,' 'The Matrix'

David Yocum — who worked on all eight “Harry Potter” pics — has come onboard as a partner and creative director of M3 Creative Trailers, a newly minted motion picture ad division within M3 Creative Partners.

Yocum’s work encompasses trailer and TV campaigns for “300,” “Ocean’s Eleven,” “Watchmen,” “The Matrix,” “Crazy Stupid Love” “Sherlock Holmes” and “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.”

Nine-year-old M3 is headed by Andy Meyers, Brad Baruh and Roman Perez. “Dave is an extraordinarily talented marketing producer who has played key roles in creating some of my favorite trailers and TV campaigns for blockbuster movies,” Meyers said.

Prior to joining M3, Yocum did stints at Mojo, Mirage Prods. and Paramount Pictures.

During the Toronto Film Festival, M3 announced the formation of the M3 Film division. Meyers, Baruh and Perez produced “John Dies at the End,” starring Paul Giamatti, which had a closing-night slot at the fest’s Midnight Madness section following Sundance and SWSX appearances.

M3 Film, overseen by Meyers and Baruh, is producing “Apple Cart,” which will explore new ways of telling classic 1970s and ’80s horror narratives, with shooting to commence this winter.

Magnolia picked up U.S. rights to “John Dies” recently for release next year.
