Pic is Spanish helmer Amezcua's sophmore effort

Argentine star Ricardo Darin (“The Secret in Their Eyes”) will topline thriller “The 7th Floor,” Spanish helmer Patxi Amezcua’s follow-up to gritty crimer “25 Carat,” one of Spain’s most notable recent feature debuts.

Spain’s Telecinco Cinema, El Toro Prods. and Ikiru Films produce with Argentina’s K&S and Cepa Audiovisual in Argentina.

Amezcua wrote the Buenos Aires-set pic with Alejo Flah. Alvaro Augustin, Jordi Gasull, Edmon Roch, Andres Longares and Matias Mosteirin take producer credits.

Darin plays a man desperately searching for his missing kids, who disappeared on the way to school. Pic starts filming in October in Buenos Aires.

Vicente Canales’ Film Factory will introduce “The 7th Floor” to buyers at Cannes.
