New entity dubbed Preferred Film & TV
Content Media has signed a deal for a new movie-TV-digital production and development company in partnership with Preferred Content.
The new entity, dubbed Preferred Film & TV, will be a joint venture between the two companies. Preferred Content’s Ross Dinerstein and Kevin Iwashina will oversee the day-to-day company operations.
The joint venture will have a first-look arrangement with Content.
The companies worked together on Preferred Content’s first film, “The Divide,” directed by Xavier Gens, which premiered at the 2011 SXSW Film Festival. They also collaborated on “The Day,” which premiered last year at theToronto Midnight Selection and with Sundance Midnight Selection “The Pact.”
The first film from joint venture is genre film “Mr. Jones,” written and directed by Karl Mueller. Supernatural thriller stars Jon Foster and Sarah Jones and is currently in post-production with Content Film showing footage for the first time at AFM this week.
