Cinema Guild nabs ‘Night’

Company acquires U.S. rights to Raul Ruiz's final film

The Cinema Guild has acquired U.S. distribution rights to Raul Ruiz’s final film, “Night Across the Street” (“La Noche de Enfrente”).

Ruiz died in Paris last August.

Pic centers on an elderly office worker on the verge of retirement who begins to relive both real and imagined memories.

“Night Across the Street” premiered in Cannes at Director’s Fortnight. It was produced by Francois Margolin and Christian Aspee. Christian Vadim, Sergio Hernandez, Valentina Vargad and Chamila Rodriguez star.

Cinema Guild plans to open “Night Across the Street” in theaters early next year.

Film, shot in Santiago, Chile, is loosely adapted from the fantastical short stories of Chilean writer Herman del Solar.
