Cinedigm Entertainment Group has acquired U.S. distribution rights to music documentary “Don’t Stop Believin’: Everyman’s Journey” and plans a spring release for theatrical, on-demand and premium digital.
“Journey” premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in April. It was the closing night selection at the San Francisco Intl. Film Festival and opening night selection at Silverdocs.
“Don’t Stop Believin’: Everyman’s Journey,” directed by Ramona S. Diaz, centers on Filipino singer Arnel Pineda, a formerly homeless teen who has been the lead singer for the rock band Journey for the past five years. The film includes a worldwide tour and a homecoming performance in Manila.
The film is a CineDiaz, Defining Entertainment production, in association with Game 7 Films and Arcady Bay Entertainment. It’s produced by Diaz and Capella Fahoome Brogden and exec produced by John Baruck and Joshua Green.
Deal was negotiated by Josh Braun of Submarine Entertainment for the filmmakers and Emily Rothschild for Cinedigm.
“Don’t Stop Believin’: Everyman’s Journey” will have its TV debut in late summer 2013 on PBS’s “Independent Lens.”
