Charlotte Riley will march alongside Tom Cruise for her first role in a major Hollywood film, as the Brit TV thesp is set to join the cast of Warner Bros.’ “All You Need is Kill.”
Doug Liman is directing the graphic novel-based pic about a soldier (Cruise) in a war against aliens who relives his last day over and over after being killed. Through the training and battles he experiences in these time loops, he becomes a better soldier.
Emily Blunt and Riley both play soldiers who fight alongside Cruise.
Riley, who made her bones in several Blighty TV series and miniseries, is engaged to “The Dark Knight Rises” thesp Tom Hardy — and was at one point considered for the Catwoman role that wound up going to Anne Hathaway in that Warners pic. The CAA- and Conway van Gelder Grant-repped thesp recently wrapped production on the Scott Free TV series “World Without End.”
Erwin Stoff, Tom Lassally and Jason Hoffs are producing “Kill” through 3 Arts Entertainment. Dante Harper penned the script with Joby Harold, who’s doing a rewrite and serving as exec producer. Pic is currently set to start production later this fall in London.
