Distrib also skeds 'Psychopaths,' 'Words'

CBS Films has dated crime comedy “Gambit,” starring Cameron Diaz and Colin Firth, for Jan. 13.

Alan Rickman, Tom Courtenay, Stanley Tucci and Cloris Leachman also star, and Michael Hoffman directed from a screenplay by Joel and Ethan Coen. Producers are Mike Lobell alongside Crime Scene Pictures partners Adam Ripp and Rob Paris.

The remake of the 1966 Brit comedy, which toplined Michael Caine and Shirley MacLaine, will open against Paramount’s “Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters” and The Weinstein Co.’s “Scary Movie 5.”

CBS Films has also set action-comedy “Seven Psychopaths” for a limited release on Nov. 2 and “The Words,” a drama starring Bradley Cooper, for a wide release on Sept. 21. “The Words” will open against Lionsgate’s “Dredd,” Relativity’s “House at the End of the Street” and TWC’s “Cogan’s Trade.”
