McDonaugh's 'Psychopaths' bumped up to Oct. 12; 'Gambit' pushed back

CBS Films has shuffled its release schedule, moving action-comedy “Seven Psychopaths” forward a month to Oct. 12 and pushing crime comedy “Gambit” back to next year.

The banner opted to move Martin McDonaugh’s “Pyschopaths” — starring Colin Farrell and Sam Rockwell — forward from its November slot in the wake of it being selected for the Midnight Madness section of the Toronto Intl. Film Festival.

“Gambit,” starring Cameron Diaz and Colin Firth, had been set for Oct. 12 and is now likely to open in the first quarter. The pic, also starring Alan Rickman, Tom Courtenay, Stanley Tucci and Cloris Leachman, had orignally been dated for January before it was moved into the fall.

“Seven Psychopaths” will open against a pair of wide releases — Warner Bros.’ drama “Argo,” directed by Ben Affleck, and Sony’s Kevin James comedy “Here Comes the Boom.”
