CBS Films acquires ‘Last Exorcism’ sequel

Horror pic to open on March 1; 'To Do List' shifted to August

CBS Films has acquired the U.S. distribution rights to “The Last Exorcism Part II” from Studiocanal.

CBS Films will open the horror sequel March 1 and is moving ensemble comedy “The To Do List” from that date to August.

The Last Exorcism Part II” is directed by Ed Gass–Donnelly from a screenplay by Gass-Donnelly and Damien Chazelle.

The original opened in 2010.

Eli Roth produced the sequel along with Marc Abraham, Thomas A. Bliss and Eric Newman of Strike Entertainment. Patty Long and Gabrielle Neimand served as exec producers.

Story in the sequel continues where the first film left off, with Ashley Bell’s character found alone and terrified in the woods.

CBS Films’ Scott Shooman negotiated the deal with Studiocanal’s Harold van Lier.
