Canada’s Buffalo Pictures and Entremedia merge

New venture's called Buffalo Media Group

Canada’s Buffalo Pictures and Entremedia Digital Films are merging to form a production company called Buffalo Media Group.

The new entity will make live action and animated films and TV. Its first project is already in development — 3D toon “Emma’s Wings: A Bella Sara Tale,” exploring a fantasy world with magical horses

Based in Toronto and Winnipeg, the new venture will be headed by Buffalo’s Phyllis Laing as CEO and Entremedia’s Dan Krech as prexy.

Among new staff they have tapped are Kevin Hicks as VP of sales and marketing, Ken Zorniak as VP of operations and business development who will join existing execs such as Jeff Bell, who was head of production at Entremedia.

“This partnership comes at an important time in our industry,” Laing said in a statement. “With media formats and platforms continuing to evolve, it’s integral that companies keep up with the changing demand of programming and delivery.”

“With our combined talents, networks and resources, Buffalo Media Group is sure to be positioned as leaders in the ever-shifting media landscape,” Krech said.
