Celebs drank vodka, not moonshine, at the Aug. 22 preem of the Weinstein Co.’s Prohibition-era drama “Lawless” at the Arclight.
Onscreen buddies Shia LaBeouf and Dane DeHaan struck a close off-screen friendship making the film in Georgia. They met after DeHaan’s first dialect coaching session.
“Shia was like, ‘How’s it going? You’re coming to my house tonight. Let’s start running our scenes, and by the way, we’re talking a road trip to Georgia,’?” DeHaan said.
LaBeouf spilled details about a Louisiana stop during the cross-country trek. He said, “We spent Valentine’s Day together in Tony’s Lobster Shack, the most homophobic crowd you’ve ever been around. It was outrageous.”
At the Eden afterparty, LaBeouf greeted Jack Bondurant Jr., the real-life son of the thesp’s character. Jack’s dad, Matt Bondurant, author of the source novel, also attended the preem, which marked his first time on a red carpet.
