Breaking Glass takes ‘Dark’

Israeli pic premiering at Toronto

Michael Mayer’s “Out in the Dark” has been acquired for U.S. distribution by Breaking Glass.

Deal was announced Thursday, a day before the world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Pic was produced by Lihu Roter and Mayer. Story follows a Palestinian grad student and an Israeli lawyer, portrayed by Nicholas Jacob and Michael Aloni, who meet and fall in love.

Script was penned by Yael Shafrir and Mayer.

“Out in the Dark” sold to multiple foreign markets at Cannes.
