Blagden boards U’s ‘Les Miz’

Thesp set to play Grantaire in adaptation

George Blagden will play Grantaire in Universal’s “Les Miserables,” starring Hugh Jackman and Russell Crowe.

Tom Hooper is helming the pic, which also stars Anne Hathaway, Amanda Seyfried and Eddie Redmayne.

William Nicholson Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schoenberg adapted the Victor Hugo novel.

Pic is slated to bow on Dec. 7.

Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner will produce for Working Title alongside Cameron Mackintosh and Debra Hayward.

Blagden just wrapped shooting on the indie “The Philosophers” and can be seen next in Warner Bros.’ “Wrath of the Titans.”

He is represented by Paradigm, Untitled and Lou Coulson Associates.
