Beyer, Huss join cast of ’42’

Brian Helgeland writing, directing Jackie Robinson biopic

GCB” thesp Brad Beyer and Toby Huss have joined the cast of Legendary Pictures’ baseball drama “42,” a Jackie Robinson biopic that Brian Helgeland is writing and directing.

Pic stars Chadwick Boseman, Harrison Ford, Christopher Meloni and Nicole Beharie.

Beyer will play Kirby Higbe, the Dodgers pitcher who was the main proponent of the petition against playing with Robinson.

Huss will play Clyde Sukeforth, the third base coach who played an integral role in scouting and signing Robinson.

Legendary chairman-CEO Thomas Tull is producing, while Legendary prexy-CCO Jon Jashni will exec produce with former Disney chairman Dick Cook.

Beyer, who plays Zach Peacham on “GCB,” brings with him real-life experience as a former minor league pitcher.

Huss, who previously appeared in “Cowboys and Aliens,” just signed on to join Kevin James and Emily Watson in the indie pic “Little Boy.”

Abrams Artist Agency reps Beyer and Huss, who are respectively managed by Levine/Okwu/Erickson and Principato-Young.
