The 2013 edition of the Beijing Film Festival will have an official competition section, organizers have announced, to be called the Temple of Heaven Awards, after one of the capital’s most recognizable landmarks.

The third edition of the fest will run April 16-23, and the awards will be presented on the closing night.

Trophies will be presented in 10 categories: best feature film, director, lead actor and actress, supporting actor and actress, screenplay, cinematography, music and visual effects.

The fest is accepting global submissions at its website, bjiff.com, until Dec. 31. An international jury will select winners, which will be announced at the closing ceremony, according to the organizers.
