Bana, Hall set for Focus, Working Title thriller

Director John Crowley begins production in April

Eric Bana and Rebecca Hall will topline an untitled international suspense thriller for Focus Features and Working Title Films.

Production will begin in April in the U.K., with John Crowley (“Boy A”) directing from a screenplay by Steven Knight (“Eastern Promises”).

Focus CEO James Schamus and president Andrew Karpen and Working Title co-chairs Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner made the announcement Thursday.

Bevan and Fellner are producing with Chris Clark (“The Guard”). Focus will hold worldwide rights to the feature and will start international sales at the Cannes Film Festival in May.

Bana and Hall will portray ex-lovers who find their loyalties tested and their lives at risk when they work together on the defense team in a terrorism trial.

Schamus and Karpen said, “Working Title and John Crowley have not only crafted a nail-biting thriller but an emotional roller coaster as well — one that speaks to the heart of the human condition in our time.”
