Aronofsky’s ‘Noah’ to land March, 2014

Russell Crowe stars in Paramount, New Regency epic

Paramount Pictures and New Regency have dated biblical epic “Noah” for March 28, 2014.

Russell Crowe is starring and Darren Aronofsky will direct with John Logan re-writing the script by Aronofsky and Ari Handel. Pic will be a retelling of the Noah’s Ark tale and is the helmer’s followup to “Black Swan.”

Aronofsky and Scott Franklin will produce.

“Since I was a kid, I have been moved and inspired by the story of Noah and his family’s journey,” Aronofsky said. “The imaginations of countless generations have sparked to this epic story of faith. It’s my hope that I can present a window into Noah’s passion and perseverance for the silver screen.”

“Noah” becomes the 11th title to be set for 2014 and opens two weeks after Disney launches “Maleficent.” Par’s “Transformers 4” has the latest date of the 2014 entries, launching on June 27.
