Producer, UPM worked on 'Twilight,' 'Halloween'

Hollywood producer and unit production manager Andy La Marca died Dec. 30 from a sudden heart attack. He was 57.

La Marca’s career in the film business spanned 31 years. He earned various producer credits on films including “RoboCop 3,” “Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls,” 1999’s “The Out-of-Towners,” “Grindhouse,” 2007’s “Halloween,” 2009’s “Halloween II” and 2010’s “Piranha.”

La Marca had three films in pre-production: “Dark Star Hollow,” on which he was producer; “Halloween III,” on which he was executive producer and production manager; and “Arabian Nights,” on which he was exec producer and production manager.

As a UPM, La Marca had credits on films including “The Odd Couple II,” “The Scorpion King,” “Envy,” “Superman Returns” and The “Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 1.” He had “7500” in post.

He was also an assistant cameraman early in his career.

La Marca is survived by his wife, Marsha; two daughters; his mother; three brothers and two sisters.
