First film was released in summer 2004
Feliz Navidad, bitches!
Paramount has dated “Anchorman 2″ for a Dec. 20, 2013, wide release, giving the film a solid lead-up to the Christmas holiday. The release date is an interesting departure for the franchise — and adult comedies, in general — after the first pic bowed during the heat of summer in 2004. Domestic cume on the original was $85.3 million. “Anchorman 2″ joins four other wide releases, Disney’s “Saving Mr. Banks,” Fox’s “Walking With Dinosaurs,” Sony’s “Monuments Men” and “Last Vegas,” from CBS Films. As a counterprogramming move, the laffer sequel should appeal mostly to adult men.
