Exec handled 'Twilight' franchise at Summit
Anchor Bay Films has hired Bill Lewis as senior VP of theatrical distribution and marketing and assigned him to work on the continued growth of its theatrical business as well as developing new distribution models.
Lewis has been in show business for over 30 years and was most recently the exec VP and general sales manager at Summit Entertainment, where he oversaw the “Twilight” franchise and “The Hurt Locker.” Lewis spent over a decade at MGM heading the Eastern U.S. theatrical distribution efforts on “Hotel Rwanda,” “Legally Blonde” and the Bond films starring Pierce Bronson.
He has held theatrical posts at Hemdale, Lorimar, DEG and UA Theaters.
Anchor Bay acquired a pair of films at the Toronto Film Festival — Billy Bob Thornton’s “Jayne Mansfield’s Car” and Rob Zombie’s “The Lords of Salem” — both are slated for a spring release.
