Actress set for Walter Strafford-directed indie
“Our Idiot Brother” thesp Alexia Rasmussen is set to play the female lead opposite Brian Geraghty (“The Hurt Locker”) in the indie “Kilimanjaro,” which Walter Strafford is directing from a script he wrote.
Geraghty stars as a man who is determined to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro after a recent breakup. Rasmussen will play his longtime girlfriend, who finds it hard to completely cut off contact with him despite their separation.
Abigail Spencer (“Mad Men”) co-stars as Geraghty’s receptionist, on whom he develops a crush.
Ryan Piers Williams and Jason Michael Berman are producing “Kilimanjaro.”
Rasmussen recently starred alongside Tim Heidecker in Rick Alverson’s Sundance pic “The Comedy,” which earned her a spot on Gen Art’s “7 Fresh Faces in Film” at the festival earlier this year. She previously appeared in “Our Idiot Brother” and the early Rooney Mara movie “Tanner Hall.” Thesp is repped by the Gersh Agency and Authentic Talent and Literary Management.
