AFI, Levi’s team up on shorts

Contest offers mentoring, wardrobe

Budding filmmakers will have the opportunity to earn a showcase at the AFI Fest next fall.

The American Film Institute has teamed with Levi’s for short-film contest that will cull six winners who will receive $5,000 to make their film and a $500 Levi’s wardrobe for their cast.

Contenders are asked to submit a treatment for a five-minute pic with the theme “a tomorrow that is better than today.”

Winners will receive 10 hours with an AFI mentor and a trip to Los Angeles.

Entries can be submitted at through March 30.
