‘6 Month Rule’ set for June bow

Abramorama to release Blayne Weaver indie pic

Distribution plans for Blayne Weaver’s indie romantic dramedy “6 Month Rule” have been set, starting with a June 1 theatrical launch in New York and Los Angeles on June 8 through Abramorama.

“Rule” will be released in additional cities before FilmBuff launches it onto all major digital platforms in July.

Weaver directed from his own script and leads an ensemble cast that includes Martin Starr, Natalie Morales, Patrick J. Adams, Vanessa Branch, John Michael Higgins, Dave Foley and Jaime Pressly.

“Rule” centers on a man who lives by a personal philosophy that allows him to avoid making any significant connections with women. He frequently boasts that he can get over any woman in six months or less, denying his fear of emotional attachment.

The film is a co-production of Weaver’s Secret Identity Prods. and Steakhaus Prods. Past projects include the Sundance film “By Hook or by Crook,” the documentary “For the Love of Dolly” and Weaver’s “Weather Girl.”

Jeremy Tenser negotiated the deal with Steven Beckman of FilmBuff.
