Tribeca winner Chapiron plans sophomore pic

French-lingo 'Creme' is helmer's passion project

French helmer Kim Chapiron, whose English-language debut “Dog Pound” earned him Tribeca’s new narrative filmmaker prize, is prepping his sophomore feature, “La Creme de la Creme,” a French-lingo coming-of-age drama.

Pic, penned by Chapiron and Noe Debre, is produced by Pierre-Ange Le Pogam’s Stone Angels and Benjamin Elalouf’s Moonshaker.

Described by Le Pogam as “Risky Business” meets “The Social Network,” pic centers on a group of students in a prestigious, high-pressure French business school.

“It’s a passion project for Chapiron,” said Le Pogam, adding that the helmer will explore the ins and outs of a business institution with the same realism he brought to “Dog Pound,” set in an American juvenile detention center.

Chapiron is currently casting for a summer shoot. Stone Angels will distribute the film in France.
