Tribeca Film acquires Byington’s ‘Somebody’

Film preemed in March at SXSW

Tribeca Film has acquired North American rights to Bob Byington’s quirky comedy “Somebody Up There Likes Me,” starring Keith Poulson, Nick Offerman, and Jess Weixler. 

The film, produced by Hans Graffunder (“Knight of Cups”) and Nick Offerman (“Parks and Recreation”), premiered in March at South by Southwest. Faliro House also produced; exec producers are Stuart Bohart, Morgan Coy, Christos V. Konstantakopoulos and Brenda Greene Mitchell.

Tribeca Film plans a theatrical release in the spring, day and date with on-demand platforms along with a festival run prior to release.

Poulson and Offerman (“Parks & Recreation”) portray best friends and Weixler plays the woman they both adore.

The deal was negotiated for Tribeca Film by Nick Savva and on behalf of the filmmakers by  Andre Des Rochers from Gray Krauss Stratford Des Rochers.
