Top talent hits Toronto vid studio

Show dailies, email newsletter round out fest coverage

Variety is hitting the ground running at the Toronto Film Festival with the publication of six dailies, starting today, and an email newsletter sent daily throughout the fest.

From Saturday through Tuesday, Variety presents the Variety Studio at Holt Renfrew, the third annual video series featuring interviews with top creative talent conducted by Variety’s editorial team, led by awards editor Jon Weisman. Vids from the seshes will stream on

On Monday, notables from the biz, banking and investment sector will gather at the Metro Toronto Convention Center for the Winston Baker Film Finance Forum East in association with Variety.

Expected participants in the Variety Studio include Emily Blunt, Colin Firth, Ewan McGregor, Viggo Mortensen, Mark Ruffalo, Darren Criss, Penn Badgley, Paula Patton, Jason Bateman, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ed Burns, Eli Roth, Helen Hunt, Tate Donovan, Sally Potter, William H. Macy and Joss Whedon.

Sponsors of this year’s Variety Studio are Moroccanoil, Burt’s Bees, New Era, Holt Renfrew and Skype.
