Remstar nabs Canuck rights to ‘Jobs’

Ashton Kutcher starrer to preem at Sundance

Remstar Films has acquired Canadian rights for Joshua Micheal Stern’s “Jobs,” the biopic starring Ashton Kutcher.

“Jobs” will premiere as the closing night film at the Sundance Film Festival in January. Producers have not yet made a deal for U.S. distribution.

Stern (“Swing Vote”) directed from an original screenplay by Matt Whiteley. A Five Star production, “Jobs” is produced by Mark Hulme.

Josh Gad portrays Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak. Kevin Dunn, Elden Henson, Lenny Jacobson, Giles Matthey, Ahna O’Reilly, Victor Rasuk and J.K. Simmons also star.

Remstar Films will distribute “Jobs” in Canada in 2013. Entertainment One will handle rights in all media for the film in Canada in collaboration with Remstar, with the exception of theatrical, VOD and French-language television rights in Quebec.
