Phase 4 nabs ‘Blind Alley’ for the U.S.

DeAPlaneta Intl. rolls out Trashorras debut

Phase 4 Films has picked up U.S. distribution rights to horror film “Blind Alley,” the directorial debut of Spanish screenwriter Antonio Trashorras.

Pic will bow on VOD on Phase 4’s World Premieres platform by the fall.

Deal was negotiated by Phase 4’s Larry Greenberg and Katharyn Howe with Gorka Bilbao at DeAPlaneta Intl., which has closed sales on “Blind Alley” to other territories including German-speaking Europe (Koch Media), Canada (Mongrel Media), Venezuela (Cines Unidos) and Turkey (Kurmaca Film).

“Alley” is produced by Spain’s Roxbury Pictures, Esa Mano Amiga and Antena 3 Films, as well as Colombia’s Dynamo Capital, the country’s biggest private equity film fund. Pic turns on a young cleaning woman (Ana de Armas) at an off-season hotel in Benidorm who accidentally locks herself in the laundry with an apparent psycho-killer.

Trashorras (“The Devil’s Backbone”) penned “Alley’s” script.
