Fest includes Chris Marker retrospective
LONDON — U.K. independent film festival Raindance announced the lineup for its 20th anniversary edition Tuesday.
Featuring 105 features and 138 shorts, the fest launches Sept. 26 with Mexican horror “Here Comes the Devil.” It closes Oct. 7 with Paraguayan film “Crates.” Both pics screen at the Toronto Film Festival.
Raindance welcomes 19 world premieres, 13 international premieres and 64 U.K. premieres across its U.K. Homegrown, American Indie, European and Documentary strands.
The fest also hosts a spotlight on Quebec, featuring four features and a docu, and retros of filmmakers Chris Marker and Trent Harris.
Among the guests in attendance, American novelist Chuck Palahniuk (“Fight Club”) will take part with his short film “Romance,” and actor Jeremy Irons and composer Vangelis will be on hand to support green docu “Trashed.”
