As topper of Eon Prods., the shingle behind the James Bond pics, Broccoli’s world revolves around blockbusters, but in helping turn “Once,” a low-budget indie film into a Broadway hit, Broccoli and her Rialto cohorts earned eight Tony Awards, including best musical, in June. The little tuner that could — based on John Carney’s Dublin-set film about a guy, a girl and some lovely songs about love — dominated the kudos, besting bigger, slicker and more star-driven vehicles. She’s the daughter of Albert R. “Cubby” Broccoli, the film producer who turned the James Bond books into an iconic film franchise, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. In 1995, Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson took over Bond from their father and rebooted the franchise with a new 007, Pierce Brosnan; Daniel Craig took over the Aston-Martin in 2006. The 23rd Bond pic, “Skyfall,” will be released Nov. 9 by Sony. Broccoli also produced the stage adaptation of “Chariots of Fire,” “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang” and the hit Broadway play “A Steady Rain” with Hugh Jackman and Craig.
