Showtime’s ‘Big C’ moves forward with plans to wrap as a miniseries

LinneyWe have confirmation that Showtime’s “The Big C” — or rather, “The Big C: Hereafter,” as it has been retitled — will be part of next year’s Emmy movies-miniseries race with a final season of four hourlong episodes.

Kathy Najimy and Isaac Mizrahi will appear on the final run with regulars Laura
Linney, Oliver Platt, John Benjamin Hickey, Gabriel Basso and Gabourey
Sidibe.

The Emmy movie-miniseries category has become crowded with projects such as FX’s “American Horror Story” and short-season British productions. In addition, lead and supporting acting performances for longform programming
will be combined into the same Primetime Emmy categories beginning in 2013.
